Mixed conditions during Free Practice, Lamborghini on top
The free practice session for the 2017 Total 24 Hours of Spa started on a wet track, but with conditions improving during the second half of the 90-minute session, lap times were dropping rapidly. Eventually it was the #63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini, driven by Mirko Bortolotti, who set the fastest time in 2’20.406. Daniel Juncadella put the #88 Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP car in second, a mere two tenths of behind the leading Lamborghini. Franck Perera completed the top-3, at the wheel of the #84 Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport machine.

Fastest of the Pro-Am cars was another Mercedes-AMG, the #89 AKKA ASP car, which was also in fifth overall. It was only three thousandths of a second quicker than the #333 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari. The #888 Kessel Racing Ferrari was on top in the Am Cup, in 36th overall.

With seven manufacturers inside the top-12, the results of the free practice again show the competitiveness of the 69th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa. Track action continues on Thursday afternoon with the Pre-Qualifying session at 17.45 CEST. In the evening there is 75-minute Qualifying session starting at 20.10, which is immediately followed by the Night Qualifying session at 21.55. All sessions are streamed live on the official websites of the Blancpain GT Series, Intercontinental GT Challenge and Total 24 Hours of Spa.
