SPA 24 HOURS 70TH EDITION - ICONS OF SPA
To celebrate the 70th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa we asked Belgian motoring artist Clovis to draw us some of the most iconic cars that helped write the history of the Belgian endurance classic.

First up: The 1933 winning Alfa Romeo 8C 2300LM, driven by Luigi Chinetti and Louis Chiron.

While the latter was the only Monegasque Spa-winner for a long time – up until Stéphane Ortelli was victorious 70 years later – Chinetti and Alfa Romeo were the reference in endurance racing in the Thirties. Between 1928 and 1938 the Italian brand won all-but-one editions of the Spa 24 Hours, with this 8C model crossing the line in first four times. In 1933 the manufacturer from Lombardy even made it a triple win, emphatically beating the fourth placed Bugatti by 17 laps.
